Julia Stuble for House District 54 (2016)

House District 54 has never sent a Democrat to the Wyoming legislature. I know — I ran there in 2012 and lost to incumbent Lloyd Larsen with 40% of the vote in a three-way race. At the time, I was convinced the seat was unwinnable.

Then I learned more about data-driven campaigning.

My role: In 2016 I recruited Julia Stuble to run against Larsen and managed every aspect of her campaign: website design and build, field organizer management, and the full campaign plan — doors, phones, media, and digital.

Outcome: Julia got 43% of the vote, a 3-point improvement on my own 2012 performance in the same district against the same incumbent. More significantly, she outperformed Hillary Clinton in the same district by 8 percentage points.

On Election Day we had bikes with Julia signs at every bike rack all the way to the polling location!
